Spring Break Events

The Children’s Room at Brooks Memorial Library has a full schedule of events for all ages during spring break week. Stop in any time during the week to write a poem to add to our PoeTree, make a dandelion to wish on at our craft table and vote for the movies you would like us to show this summer.

Create homes for our magical friends during our Fairy Houses & Gnome Homes workshop on Tuesday, April 21 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Building material will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring additional materials to make their homes unique. This workshop is intended for children six years old and older since sharp scissors and hot glue guns will be used. Please call the Children’s Room at 254-5290 ext 110 to sign up as space is limited.

Join us for stories, songs and fun at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22 for our weekly Rhyme Time designed for children 5 years old and under along with their caregivers. Rhyme Time runs from April through August and October through February.

Don’t miss our special spring break LEGO-palooza session on Thursday, April 23. Stop in anytime between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. to build with the library’s LEGO collection. LEGO-palooza is held the third Thursday each month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room with special school break sessions throughout the year.

Come shake your sillies out during our third annual Toddler Dance Party on Friday, April 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Children ages 5 years old and younger are invited to shake, wiggle and bop to fun music, play with scarves, then finish off with a snack. Please call the Children’s Room at 254-5290 ext 110 by Wednesday April 22 to sign-up for this free Month of the Young Child event. The Month of the Young Child is sponsored by Windham Child Care Association, Brattleboro Area Early Childhood Educators Network and the Building Bright Futures Council of Southeastern Vermont.

Rhyme Time Information

Rhyme Time is held Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Meeting Room at Brooks Memorial Library and is designed for children ages 5 and under and their caregivers. Rhyme Time runs from October through February and April through August.
