DESCRIPTION:John Van Der Does – an author living in Chester\, Vermont – will share readings from his autobiographical accounts of his experiences in Vietnam.  During the war\, John wrote an extensive interview with the author Anton Wilson\, an article in a French newspaper chronicling the struggles of people living on the barges on the banks of the Seine\, and a book of poetry. \nJohn had been hired to work on a film script with the famous director Jodorosky\, but the chaos involved with this eccentric individual caused him to quit. \nJohn is currently writing a novel whose main characters are a doctoral student and a taxi driver who uncover mysterious links between two literary giants in documents discovered in an attic in France.

Assistance will be provided. \nVolunteers available between 2 – 5 PM on January 23;  and\,  2 – 4 :30PM on February 6th – both events are happening in the Community Room.

DESCRIPTION:Strengthen balance and build social connection\, all while playing and connecting to your inner child with SilverCircus by the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA). These circus classes are designed for older adults and are welcome to all mobility and cognitive levels. We will work with each student where they are at\, while fostering a supportive and playful group dynamic. Activities will challenge the brain and the body\, and will be scaled up and down to be the perfect challenge for each participant.\nIt is not too late to join the circus! Join us at Brattleboro Memorial Library at 11am on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in January through May (01/10\, 01/24\, 02/14\, 02/28\, 03/14\, 03/28\, 04/11\, 04/25\, 05/09\, and 05/23).
