The Vermont Village School welcomes villagers of all ages to participate in a people’s Civics class with us this spring at Brooks Memorial Library. We will be untangling the different institutions that exert power over us\, past and present\, official and unofficial\, and brainstorming how we move forward together. \n\nJoin us Monday at 10:15am @ Brooks Memorial Library\, Brattleboro. This will be the first of a series–we will plan future gatherings based on collective interest and energy.

DESCRIPTION:Following the Representative Town Meeting’s (RTM) vote not to approve the Town of Brattleboro’s proposed FY26 budget\, the newly seated Selectboard will begin work to revise and resubmit a new budget proposal.The Selectboard will begin the process by hosting a listening session at the ground floor of Brooks Memorial Library (and on Zoom) on Tuesday\, April 8 at 6:15 p.m. The meeting will be broadcast live courtesy BCTV.There will be a special Selectboard meeting on Thursday\, April 10 at 6:15 p.m. to continue the discussion. This meeting will take place in the Selectboard Meeting Room and on Zoom.The budget redevelopment process will continue through the month of April. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
