DESCRIPTION:Join local poet Michael John Carignan for an afternoon program featuring selections from Chrysalis\, his recently-published collection from Austin Macauley Publishers. \n“Immerse yourself in a ride of the authors imagination. Traveling diverse roads from keen observation\, exploring the growth from boyhood to manhood\, from exhilaration to the pinnacles of deep despair. Themes of nature protrude their heads spanning all four seasons. Curl up to browse the pages in a quiet room and let your mind wander the corridors of imagination that come to life in this book a collection gathered by my muse of a flawed utopia\,viewed by many perspectives of a world shining bright. This is the hatching of ideas.” \nMichael Carignan published his first collection\, Quintessence\, in 1992\, and has since published several individual pieces in local magazines\, newspapers and anthologies including Oyez Review at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He has worked in a local school with the fourth grade class\, culminating in a collection of every child’s poem. He has worked with area artists in the impression of his poems through music and visual art. Mike has performed in several coffeehouses in the past both reading his work and doing improv poetry.
