“The film ‘Out of Our Heads: A Male Journey Into the Heart’ is a rare and intimate portrait of a supportive male community — the Men’s Wisdom Council — that is part of the mythopoetic men’s movement. Using poetry, myth, ritual and community-building exercises, these men create a ‘safe container’ in which they can share their deepest emotions, heal old wounds, and develop a bigger dream to move them forward in life. During this week-long retreat the power of community is activated to help one man deal with his imminent death, another deal with the wound of a lost love, and a third develop a new perspective on the tragic loss of two family members during his childhood.”
