Adding native plants to your yard is easier than you think and may be the most important thing you can do for our troubled ecosystem. Learn the basics about why and how to get started. Black thumb gardeners welcome! This informational talk is served with a side of enthusiasm and encouragement.

Presenter Bio: Jocelyn Demuth is the owner of Checkerspot Farm, a native plant nursery in Colrain MA (10 minutes from the Vermont Border.) The nursery grows 160 species of native plants from seed for sale. She is a speaker for Franklin County Conservation as well as a native plant consultant and landscaper. She is also the author of the Five Hundred Yard Field Trip, curriculum about native plants for students in grades k-8. This curriculum is available for free on the website www.fivehundredyardfieldtrip.com and has been funded by a grant from the MA Dept of Agriculture.
