Access ebooks, emagazines, audiobooks, and streaming video. You’ll find unique titles and features in each of the apps below. The audio/ebooks are also listed in our traditional library catalog, which lets you click through to the apps and check out digital items.

Features:
- Blackstone produces most of its audiobooks and is noted for the quality of its recordings. It’s strong in classics for all ages, but there are contemporary titles as well.
- Most of the Blackstone audiobooks are unique in our system and do not overlap with Libby and Palace.
- Titles are always available. No waiting lists required.
Tips for setting up Blackstone Unlimited:
Type Brooks in the library line, and it will find us.
When prompted for your library card and password, use the same password/PIN that you use for your Brooks Memorial Library account, usually the last four digits of your phone number.
Complete your sign-up by entering your email address and making up a password.

Includes:
audiobooks, ebooks, and a large collection of magazines (with backfiles)
Libby is also linked to three video resources: Kanopy, Qello, and The Great Courses. Learn more about those in the Streaming Video section on this page.
Works on:
smart phones, tablets, computers, and Kindles
Features:
- Current and popular audiobooks and ebooks for all ages. The collection is assembled from many publishers and producers.
- Popular titles might have wait lists, but you can place holds and be notified when they’re available.
- The library’s main collection of e-magazines is on Libby. This includes hundreds of titles, including current and back issues.
Tips for setting up Libby:
Select Yes when asked if you have a library card.
Search for Brooks Memorial Library and choose the Green Mountain Library Consortium (GMLC)
When prompted for your library card and password, use the same password/PIN that you use for your Brooks Memorial Library account, usually the last four digits of your phone number.

Free to all Vermonters via their local public libraries, with funding and oversight from the Vermont Department of Libraries.
Palace receives support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

smart phones and tablets (not on computers or Kindles)
Features:
- Palace offers many digital books from the Vermont Department of Libraries, plus all the titles on Libby and Blackstone. If you like the Palace app, it can be a convenient single stop.
- If you prefer Libby as your main app for digital titles, it’s still worth checking Palace for additional titles and additional copies that might speed up your wait if you’re on a hold list.
- The Palace Project was launched to give libraries more control over their content, and we expect it to keep getting better.
Tips for setting up Palace:
Tap Settings > Libraries and search for Brooks Memorial.

Streaming Video: Movies, Lectures, and Concerts
The library offers three streaming video services free to Brooks Memorial Library cardholders. All are accessible through Libby. Questions? Ask a librarian!
Kanopy
U.S. and world movies in all genres, free with your library card. Includes Kanopy Kids for children’s favorites on repeat! Access through Libby, or go directly to Kanopy and create a free account.
Free Online Audiobooks, eBooks, and Video
Here are some great resources available at no cost on the Web, beginning in our own community.
Brattleboro’s award-winning BCTV offers local news, entertainment, and education, including an archive of many Library-sponsored programs. BCTV covers live meetings of the Brattleboro Selectboard and town committees. Check out the great variety of programs, and enjoy connecting with your community.
Access a selected, ever-expanding video archive of programs presented by the Vermont Humanities Council. If you missed a program co-sponsored by Brooks Memorial, you might find it here, but don’t limit yourself! The archive has engaging videos from venues all over Vermont.
