Make a Mini-Crankie

What’s A Crankie?  Picture a hand-painted scroll that moves through a wooden box while a performer sings, plays music, or tells a story. It’s part folk art, part theater, part magic. Workshop attendees will build a miniature Crankie out of a matchbox and matchsticks with a turning mechanism for the scroll. Each participant will design and create the scroll and render it in four images. In the course of two hours, everyone will create an entire Crankie! This workshop is for participants ages 15 and up.
