Description
Southeastern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA) is a 61-year-old nonprofit that strengthens Windham and Windsor County by supporting residents overcoming hardship, building resilience, and creating thriving communities. Our mission is to empower and partner with individuals and communities to alleviate the hardships of poverty, provide opportunities for thriving, and eliminate the root causes of poverty in southeastern Vermont. We have offices in Brattleboro, Springfield, Westminster, White River Junction, Windsor, and Head start locations in Chester and Springfield. In 2024, we supported over 3,500 people in 2,000 households with more than 7,500 services.

- Community resource navigation
- Food navigation support
- Financial education and classes
- Tax preparation
- Micro business support
- Head Start with preschool and childcare
- Emergency home repair
- Home weatherization
