Food Connects Farm to School Program

Description

Food Connects has a Farm to School Program which aims to provide hands-on education to K-12 students, focusing on nutrition and our local food system. We do this by working with Brattleboro public schools to support educational programs in their gardens, classrooms, cafeterias, and communities.

Volunteers can support in a variety of ways including: garden care, data collections, and resource distribution. We work directly with schools, meaning that volunteers must follow strict protocols around visitor passes, background checks, and supervision in some of our activity areas.

High need items include: ingredients for hands-on cooking activities led by our teachers & garden coordinators; seeds and soil for garden beds; and kids-sized gardening gloves and tools.
