Talking About Tech: AI: The Good, the Bad, and the Everyday

Illustration AI-generated with Google Gemini. Can you spot the signs?
In September, Bob Jude Ferrante led us through some of the history of Artificial Intelligence, explained some of the buzzwords and a bit about how AI works. This month, we’ll have an open discussion about AI. Bring your questions, your observations, and your honest thoughts.
We’ll talk through the big concerns—like the impact on jobs, the environment, creativity, and safety—as well as practical tips, everyday uses, and hopes for where technology is heading
How has AI changed how we search the internet? What does that mean about whether we can trust the information we do find? What about the ethics of training AI on huge amounts of copyrighted books, music, images?
Have you used it to draft an email for you? Had a conversation with someone speaking in another language? Had an app tell you what song’s stuck in your head by hearing you hum a few lines?
Whether you use AI tools daily, feel skeptical, are deeply concerned, or are just curious to learn what others think, all perspectives and experience levels are welcome.
