Free rooms for gatherings, meetings, and study

The library has four rooms of different sizes for meetings and quiet study. A library card is not required to use the rooms, but reservations are recommended, because they’re popular. Here’s a quick view of the options:

To enable everyone to benefit from this shared resource, the Board of Trustees maintains a Policy for Use of Library Conference Rooms. 

For large events open to the public

  • Capacity: 42
  • Room Size: approximately 560sqft
  • Location: 2nd floor, near the Children’s Room and the Spicy Lime teen room
  • Food and beverages allowed? Yes.
  • Private meetings allowed? The Community Meeting Room is intended for gatherings that are free and open to the public. Some private meetings might be allowed during certain times – subject to librarian approval.

Meeting/Study Rooms B & C

Small, reservable rooms on the mezzanine

Visitors can use a total of 2 hours per day and 6 hours per week in Study Room B, C, or a combination of the two. Reservations are required, and self-booking will be available soon. Meanwhile, please ask at the first floor circulation desk, or call us at (802) 254-5290, ext. 0

  • Availability: Can be reserved any time the library is open. Reservations are required.
  • Location: Mezzanine
  • Food and beverages allowed? Yes (tile floor)
  • Private meetings allowed? Yes
  • Notes: Room C also has a dedicated computer, printer, and flatbed scanner for public use.

Room D: Quiet Reading Room

Drop in for daytime study

  • Capacity: 26
  • Location: Mezzanine
  • Food and beverages allowed? No (carpeted)
  • Private meetings allowed?
    • Daytime: No. During the day (10am-6pm), the QRR is available on a drop-in basis for quiet study only.
    • Evenings: in process. To meet space demands, the Library sometimes approves use of Room D for gatherings on open evenings (Mon-Weds, 6pm-9pm). Policies will continue to evolve.
