Joyriding: Sex, Drugs and Adventure on the 1970s Gringo Trail – Book Launch with Joyce Marcel

Wednesday, September 9 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

All are welcome to the formal roll-out of Joyce Marcel’s new book, Joyriding: Sex, Drugs and Adventure on the 1970s Gringo Trail, being held in the Main Reading Room at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9th.

Marcel, one of Vermont’s best-known journalists, will be interviewed by someone who knows her well, her husband, The Commons news editor Randy Holhut. They will talk about the adventures she describes in her book — which include galloping a race horse up a snow-capped volcano, being cured of hepatitis by a witch doctor, and, improbably, becoming shipwrecked in the Amazon — as well as her creative process.

The talk will be recorded by BCTV and later broadcast on its Community Channel 1078 and website brattleboro.tv, as well as on its YouTube page.

We hope you can join us for the stories and laughter in what promises to be an engaging conversation and delightful event.

Signed copies will be available for sale. More about the book can be found on Joyce’s website: https://new.joycemarcel.com/
