Talking About Tech

Bring your tech questions–and answers!–to the first in a new series for technology help. Our vision is an interactive gathering a bit like a book club crossed with a crafting group, with a touch of a drop-in bike repair clinic.
Each session will begin with a 30-minute guided discussion of a tech topic of interest. Then we’ll have an hour for mutual tech support on the focus topic or other areas of need and interest. Maybe you have the answer someone else is looking for! The library’s Electronic Services Specialist, Matt, will be there to provide expert help. Bring your phone, tablet, or laptop.
This month’s focus topic: digital media. Did you know you can stream movies and tv shows, and download e-books to read and audiobooks to listen to on your mobile device? All for free with your Brooks Memorial Library card. Our focus topic this month will give an overview of these services, and how to get started using their apps.
Did you get a new device over the holidays? Bring it with you! The informal group support time after the presentation will be the perfect time to show it off, or learn how to turn it on.
Matthew Wojcik will lead the discussion of this month’s focus topic. Matt is the library’s Electronic Services Specialist. He gives one-on-one tech help at the library by appointment, or answers quick questions whenever he’s available.
