Local Resources: Vermont-New England Foundations

Regional, state, and town-specific resources for grant seekers and nonprofits, free to all.

“The Vermont Community Foundation helps nonprofits to carry out their important work by awarding grants, addressing systems-level change, creating community partnerships and educating philanthropists and donors about organizations that are most aligned with their charitable interests.”

Funds, Foundations, & Grant Programs from VCF showcases the rich resources available in our state.

VLCT Grants and Funding lists federal, regional, and state grants for municipalities and community-centered projects. VLCT also maintains a clickable list of Open Funding Opportunities

Casting the net wider: Candid.

Candid has evolved from Foundation Directory and Guidestar, two major players in the world of foundation fundraising and nonprofit management. In addition to its large directory of corporate and family foundations, Candid includes tools to help nonprofits sharpen their skills, boost their visibility, and earn the trust of funders through seals of transparency.

FREE TO ALL ON-SITE at the Brooks Memorial Library. Use a library computer or your own device connected to the ‘Brooks Public’ wifi network. Or see the Candid map for other free locations.

Sustainability Coordinator Stephen Dotson works within Brattleboro’s  Planning Services Department to “make Brattleboro more liveable, for longer, for everyone.” Stephen works closely with nonprofits and grant-funded projects in the area.
